Protan has officially launched a new production facility in Gebze, Istanbul, Türkiye. This cutting-edge plant will produce high-quality thermoplastic TPO and PVC membranes for roofing, tunnels, and water protection systems.
With an annual production capacity of approximately 10 million square meters, the new facility underscores Protan’s commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Strategic Growth in Türkiye
Protan’s presence in Türkiye began in 2019 with the acquisition of MultiPlan, marking the start of its expansion in a key market with significant growth potential. In 2022, Protan strengthened its position further by acquiring machinery from BTM, expanding production across several locations.
In 2024, the company took a major step forward by consolidating its operations into a new, state-of-the-art facility in Gebze. This new site merges previous operations from Izmir and Gebze OSB into one streamlined production center, boosting operational efficiency.
The consolidation project, completed in September 2024, included a complex transfer of a manufacturing line from Izmir to Gebze. This rapid and efficient relocation highlights Protan’s ability to handle large-scale industrial moves. The new facility also houses a modern laboratory, ensuring rigorous product testing, CE marking, and ISO certification compliance.
A Global Strategy for Excellence
Protan’s Gebze facility is the company’s fifth in Europe, joining others in Norway and Poland. This new site solidifies Protan’s leadership in thermoplastic membrane production and offers significant logistical advantages for serving markets in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The Turkish operation has also emerged as a key export hub, with plans for continued international growth.
